TRAININGS AND MENTORING
Foundations of Teaching Artistry, an annual summer training opportunity for Birmingham artists, provides independent artists an opportunity to gather and hone skills for creating focused, impactful educational residencies in our community. Teaching Artists (TAs) will learn the approach of arts integration as well as best practices to partner with classroom teachers. Participating TAs will receive a stipend to workshop unique and effective residency ideas to address the diverse needs of our students and transform classrooms through joy and creativity. Looking for ways to have your curriculum come alive and inspire your students with creative approaches to content? Our professional development offerings include Putting the A in STEAM: An Intro to Arts Integration, Arts Integration: A Best Practice for Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Culturally Inclusive Teaching (CIT), and uniquely tailored sessions! Our workshops lead participants through sample classroom lessons and connect big ideas across curriculum standards, and teachers can earn CE credit.
