Creativity is endless; choose more.

Creating content can be a bit overwhelming. Where do you start? What steps should you take to get your produced work to the right audiences? Is this mic even on? Don’t worry. That’s where we come in. Learning how to communicate important messages and themes to a branded audience can take you far in any field. Glenda’s Baby Productions offers workshops in using creative writing for idea generation, performance and content production, content as activism, equitable and responsible content production, and much more.

Founder, Erika E. Wade, is a 31 year old writer, producer, and performer from Birmingham, Alabama. She began her writing career publishing short stories and performing spoken word throughout the state of Alabama.

Erika’s love for connecting with audiences has led her to learn and master many styles of writing. She has written copy and reviews for Hollywood studios and networks, covered culture in online publications like Blavity, and in 2019, she co-authored the Tampax #LiveRadiant Playbook. The latter, a directive toward historically Black colleges and universities to help Black women understand harmful stereotypes surrounding menstrual health, can be seen online across the globe.

Erika’s on-stage work has been seen Off-Off Broadway at the historic 13th Street Repertory Theater in NYC, at comedy and theater festivals in Los Angeles, and most recently at The Red Mountain Theatre Arts Campus in Birmingham, Alabama. She received her Master of Fine Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2016. That same year, she received a semi-finalist placement with The Kennedy Center MFA Playwrights Workshop, placing her as one of the top 22 MFA playwrights in the nation.

Glenda’s Baby South is the Birmingham based branch of the company. We pride ourselves in helping young and developing Southern voices find their way to larger audiences. Field experience and internship opportunities are also available when in production.
